Art Basel Hong Kong

On the occasion of Art Basel Hong Kong, Almine Rech is pleased to present an intergenerational group show featuring 20th-century pioneers such as Ha Chong-Hyun, George Condo, John Giorno, Joseph Kosuth, Christopher Le Brun, Heinz Mack, Pablo Picasso, De Wain Valentine, Tom Wesselmann, and Franz West.

Alongside them, contemporary artists from across the globe bring diverse approaches to visual expression. Several leading voices from Asia, including Roby Dwi Antono,  Youngju Joung,  Minjung Kim, Tomokazu Matsuyama, and Li Qing, focus predominantly on painting, exploring rich textures, nuanced  gestures, and cultural references. Other contemporary contributors, such as  John M Armleder, Javier Calleja, Mehdi Ghadyanloo, Alexandre Lenoir, and Chloe Wise, similarly engage with painting and mixed-media practices, expanding the possibilities of form and technique.

Each artist presents a distinctive approach to visual expression, generating a dialogue across abstraction, figuration, and medium. Together, these works highlight the gallery’s commitment to showcasing diverse practices that bridge generations, geographies, and artistic traditions.
