For this edition of West Bund Art & Design, Almine Rech is pleased to present significant works by the renowned 20th-century American artist Tom Wesselmann (1931-2004). A pivotal figure in the American Pop Art movement of the 1960s, Wesselmann set aside abstract expressionism to embrace classical representations. His art, particularly in nudes, still lifes, and landscapes, carved out a unique niche with its integration of collage elements and assemblages. 

In addition to Tom Wesselman’s works, our booth will also feature a dynamic group presentation, including works by Farah Atassi, John Giorno, Peter Halley, Alex Israel, Allen Jones, Jeff Koons, Richard Prince, Li Qing, Kenny Scharf, Keiichi Tanaami and Hajime Sorayama. Each artist offers a unique perspective and distinctive formal language, pushing the boundaries of modern and contemporary art.

The Storm King Art Center presents an introductory conversation with artist Taryn Simon and Artistic Director and Chief Curator, Nora Lawrence around the artist’s new interactive sculpture, Kleroterion. The conversation will be followed by a discussion with Tomás González Olavarría, founder of Tribu, and Philip Lindsay, leader of the Democracy Innovation Hub at Bard College

On the occasion of The Art Show, Almine Rech will showcase a rare selection of bon à tirer engravings by Pablo Picasso. These etchings are each unique works annotated by hand, by the artist, and signed "Bon à Tirer." They were created while working with the renowned Crommelynck printers. This exhibition offers significant insight into Picasso's mastery of the printmaking medium. 

Art Sonje Center is delighted to present a symposium dedicated to the work of Ha Chong-Hyun, serving as a preliminary research initiative for his upcoming solo exhibition, slated to open in early 2025. The symposium aims to deepen the understanding by examining his works from the late 1950s to 1970s through the lenses of urbanism and materialism—key themes in the Korean art scene amidst the rapid industrialization of the post-war period.

For the 2024 edition of Art Basel Paris, Almine Rech proposes an intergenerational group exhibition, featuring works of estates and artists from the gallery’s roster.

For this edition of Frieze London, Almine Rech will proudly showcase six new works by the renowned Chinese artist Ji Xin (b. 1988). To complement Ji Xin's distinctive pieces, the booth will also feature a group presentation including works by Trudy Benson, Brian Calvin, Alejandro Cardenas, Ali Cherri, Roby Dwi Antono, Genieve Figgis, Hew Locke, Dr. Esther Mahlangu, Vivian Springford, Claire Tabouret, Tom Wesselmann, and Guimi You.

A two-day symposium and concurrent photographic exhibition in the Lewis Center for the Arts’ Hurley Gallery that will gather photo-based artists, writers, curators, historians, and students to explore the poetics of photography, its instability, and its latent potential. The symposium will take place on October 10 & 11, 2024, in the Wallace Theater in the Lewis Arts complex on the Princeton University campus.

As part of the 17th Lyon Biennale, Almine Rech is pleased to invite you to a discussion between British multidisciplinary artist Oliver Beer and singer-songwriter Mélissa Laveaux, a leading figure on the international music scene. Together, they will reflect on their collaboration on the work Resonance Project: The Cave (2024), an immersive eight-screen video-opera filmed in a Paleolithic decorated cave, whose presentation at the Grandes Locos marks a world premiere.
