Upstairs Cities

"Upstairs Cities" is ASE Foundation's second exhibition after its inaugural exhibition "STAGE/TIME,” showcasing  the foundation's collection, which focuses on the city, architecture and people. The Ruijin Building, located in downtown Shanghai, is one of the earliest foreign office buildings in Shanghai. The title of the exhibition, "Upstairs Cities", is not only a statement of the physical links in urban settings, but also an analysis of the philosophical relations. 

ASE Foundation is a non-profit foundation based in China with a global perspective, dedicated to supporting the popularization, development and academic research and organization of contemporary art in China. It features four functions: permanent art collection, the ASE·Space, the ASE Art Library, and art sponsorship.
