Almine Rech congratulates Oliver Beer on being selected as a finalist in the competition to design a contemporary stained glass window for Nantes Cathedral

Almine Rech is pleased to announce that artist Oliver Beer has been selected as one of four finalists in the competition to design a contemporary stained glass window for the Cathedral of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Nantes. Oliver Beer will team up with the Duchemin workshops to develop his proposal.

The French State, project owner of the cathedral’s restoration, and the Diocese of Nantes chose a contemporary creation to replace the 48 square meters of stained glass destroyed in the fire of July 18, 2020, including the large bay of the west façade, which measures 11 by 7 meters. The call for applications, launched in April 2026, received 70 submissions, each pairing an artist with a master glassmaker, 15 of them international.
