Almine Rech Editions is thrilled to present Friends, an exclusive limited-edition embroidered tapestry created in collaboration with acclaimed Irish artist Genieve Figgis.
Produced in Lyon, France—the historic heart of artisanal textile mastery—by Vangart, an atelier certified as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV), this edition translates Figgis’s unmistakable aesthetic through a meticulous process involving over 480,000 stitches and a palette of 57 vibrant thread colors. Each piece captures the rich texture and subversive elegance of the artist's original vision.
The artwork is presented in a bespoke, unglazed oak frame, ensuring the tactile beauty of the embroidery remains the focus. Each piece is signed by the artist on the reverse and individually numbered on an inset metallic plate.
