Almine Rech presents the New York premiere of Chloe Wise’s Told A Vision, December 15, 2023, from 5 to 8pm at the New York Society for Ethical Culture.
New York-based artist Chloe Wise will present the New York premiere of Told A Vision at the New York Society for Ethical Culture, in Manhattan. This audiovisual piece from her multimedia installation created for Parcours, Art Basel, replicates the sensation of channel surfing at the mercy of some unknown remote control holder. Fragments of commercials, despite their uncanny familiarity and authoritative language, advertise nothing in particular. These scenes evoke empty promises, tautologically promoting the idea of consumerism itself.
Almine Rech Brussels will present a solo exhibition of Chloe Wise's new body of work in 2024.
A Public Screening will also take place at the same venue on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 12 to 8pm. Told a Vision is conceived as a 15-minute film that will be shown on a loop.
Viewers can enter and exit at their convenience.
