Almine Rech received the BBART Gallery of the Year 2023 award and Huang Yuxing was honored as the BBART Artist of the Year

We are delighted to announce that Almine Rech received the BBART Gallery of the Year 2023 award, and Chinese artist Huang Yuxing was honored as the BBART Artist of the Year 2023. The announcement was made in the ‘BBART night’ art event at New Bund 31 in Shanghai, on November 16, 2023.

Huang Yuxing is recognized among his generation for his ability to create paintings that reflect and preserve the process of their creation. Colors, brushstrokes, and traces of the artist’s hand endure on his canvases after being continuously overlaid and blended. The meticulous brushstrokes and intense colors that pervade his works are grounded in the traditional Chinese realist technique, ‘Gongbi Zhongcai’, while building upon these principles through a signature contemporary style that continues to evolve.
