Almine Rech is pleased to spotlight a unique collaboration between renowned British artist Allen Jones and Kim Kardashian, created for the Met Gala 2026. For the occasion, Allen Jones has designed a bespoke dress for Kim Kardashian, extending his ongoing exploration of the relationship between the human body, sculpture, and fashion. The leather part of the garment was fabricated by Whitaker Malem.
Unveiled at the Met Gala, the piece enters into a broader dialogue between art, pop culture, and couture, positioning fashion as a powerful space of expression and visibility. The design also recalls earlier works by the artist, notably Body Armour (1978), originally conceived for an unreleased film and later brought back into the spotlight when worn by Kate Moss in 2013. The piece echoes the sculpture Cover Story 4/4, 2021, presented in the artist's solo show 'From the Gods,' at Almine Rech Paris, Turenne, in 2024.
