On the occasion of the 'Nuit blanche' in Paris, Ali Cherri's video The Watchman, 2023, and Joël Andrianomearisoa's video Please Sing Me My Song Before You Go, 2024 will be screened at Théâtre de la Concorde.
An annnual celebration of contemporary art that takes over the city of Paris, the 2025 edition of the 'Nuit blanche' will showcase a selection of films by contemporary artists, presenting a sensitive journey around memory, absence and resistance in the form of a projected loop. The event will take place this Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., in the main hall of the theater in Paris.
Please Sing Me My Song Before You Go by Joël Andrianomearisoa is an elegy filmed in Antananarivo, inspired by a Malagasy lullaby. In a world saturated with noise, the artist invites us to slow down, to listen to absence, to hear what quietly disappears.
In The Watchman by Ali Cherri, a soldier keeps watch in the silence of a frozen border. The film questions the memory of conflict and the human cost of separation.
