Almine Rech launches a new episode of the film series entitled 'As Seen By', which invites scholars, curators, critics and other cultural figures to share their perspective on an important work by one of the gallery’s artists.
Each video focuses on a single artwork and presents a close reading shaped by the invited speaker’s expertise and personal approach. On the occasion of the Jeff Koons' major exhibitions currently being held in Japan and Greece, the second episode of the series features Bernard Blistène, Curator of the Jeff Koons retrospective at the Centre Pompidou (2014/2015), and Honorary director of the Musée national d'art moderne - Centre Pompidou, Paris, France, reflecting on Koons' Chainlink, 2003.
By bringing together different voices, the series offers new ways of looking at works that are central to the artists’ practices and to the history of modern and contemporary art. 'As Seen By' reflects the gallery’s commitment to expanding the intellectual and educational context around its artists, creating a platform for thoughtful research and dialogue that deepens understanding of key works.
