Press release

Almine Rech New York is pleased to present The Movement of Material, an exhibition of new tapestries by Phyllis Stephens, on view from January 12 to February 25, 2023. This is Stephens' first solo exhibition with the gallery. Stephens has previously exhibited with Almine Rech in three group exhibitions: Painting Someone in Shanghai (2021), Un Hiver à Paris in Paris (2021), and August Presentation in Aspen (2021). Phyllis Stephens invited Atlanta-based artist Maurice Evans to participate in the exhibition with a special highlight of new paintings from his 'Fiber Secrets' series.
