OLIVIER MOSSET – JOHN ARMLEDER Artistic explorations: Toblerones and Thé

From 13 September to 18 October 2026, Spazio Officina hosts the exhibition 'OLIVIER MOSSET – JOHN ARMLEDER. Artistic Explorations: Toblerones and Thé', curated by Susanne Bieri and Nicoletta Ossanna Cavadini. The exhibition is inspired by two artist's books signed by the two artists, bringing their respective artistic visions into dialogue.

The exhibition is part of a series of thematic studies devoted to renowned contemporary Swiss artists. The research paths of the two Swiss artists Olivier Mosset and John Armleder, so different yet so closely related in their wide-ranging experimental practice, have reached such significant milestones that they can be considered true "masters" and trendsetters on the international contemporary scene. The exhibition at Spazio Officina follows an unusual approach: normally an exhibition precedes the publication that accompanies it, whereas in the case of Toblerones and Tea the opposite is true. The project originates from two artist's books published in 2026 by e.bs, Bern: The Toblerones by Olivier Mosset and Le Livre du Thé by John Armleder. The exhibition develops from these two publications, making the different conceptual approaches of the two artists tangible in space.

Conceived as an "integrated project," the exhibition will be hosted at the EAC (Les Halles) – espace d'art contemporain, in Porrentruy (Canton of Jura) next spring (18 April – 6 June 2027). The 12 Toblerones are part of a first work conceived by the artist Olivier Mosset for the Chiasso exhibition, which will become a travelling show with Porrentruy as its first stop.
