Parallel worlds

The collections of the Anatole Jakovsky Museum of Naïve Art engage in dialogue with those of the MAMAC around the definitions and classifications of art.
A total of 18 international artists, whether confidential, marginal, unknown, or anonymous, and 26 works (paintings, photographs, sculptures, and collages) question our relationship to art.

The exhibition reveals different artistic paths of the 20th century, questioning classifications and abolishing boundaries and labels. What characterizes naïve art, art brut, singular art, and contemporary art? Where does folk art fit in? Is it always a theoretical, conceptual, and referenced approach? A history of artistic encounters? Of emotional feelings?
