Sarah Cunningham

Sarah Cunningham’s artworks expose a glance into a world that is both familiar and mysterious, alluring viewers to contemplate the connection between the human psyche and the natural world. Her works depict psychological landscapes with poetic and intuitive approaches.

British artist Sarah Cunningham (b. 1993, United Kingdom) is a London-based artist known for her abstract paintings. Having pursued a BFA at Loughborough University, she participated in the La Wayaka Current Artist Residency in Armila, a small city nestled in Panama's Guna Yala province. Immersed in the forest, Cunningham forged connections with the Indigenous Kuna community, an experience that would profoundly shape her artistic vision.

The forest emerges as a persistent motif in Cunningham's artwork, serving as both a metaphor and a cognitive framework, reflecting our existence within the contemporary social climate.

By embracing the forces of nature and intertwining them with human experience, she invites viewers to engage in a contemplative dialogue that transcends conventional limitations.
