Sarah Cunningham (b.1993, UK) paintings evoke collective memories of landscapes. Through her painting process, Cunningham’s notable botanical elements made from various paints and collage materials come to life. To complement those forms, aspects of light, skies and water are intertwined within her landscapes. Various forms of plant life are extracted within her works, ranging from corals to tropical flora. ’I explore the beauty and artificiality in relation to the environment’ notes the artist. Sarah is currently completing a Masters in Painting at the Royal College of Art in London and was recently awarded the Ali H. Alkazzi Scholarship Award and the Djanogly Art Award.
